What is the contact page?
The contact page allows customers to send a message directly to you, and allows you to engage with your customers and answer their queries.
How to set up the contact page
Steps
- Open the Theme Editor.
- Select Pages > contact from the dropdown at the top.
- Set up your Hero banner choosing whether to show Color or an Image behind the contact page title and whether to use a Content boundary effect. Within the Content settings, choose whether to Show breadcrumbs.
- The Contact form section is already installed on the page. This section enables customers to input their details and send a direct message to merchants. Refer to How to set up a contact form for further guidance.
- Click Add section to insert a section either above or below the page content.
The content from the contact page (from the Shopify admin area) is automatically hidden within Alchemy. If you'd like to show this content, you'll need to unhide this section:
FAQs
I've assigned a page to my contact template in the Shopify admin area, but it is not showing in the theme. How can I get it to show?
The theme automatically hides the contact page block in the Template group. If you click on the eye icon, it will unhide and the content will be visible.
If this still does not show the expected content, check that the page has been assigned to the correct template in your Shopify admin area.
Where do I see the emails?
Emails will go to your email address as added in the Shopify admin area, in Settings > Notifications > Sender email.
Why am I not receiving emails?
Emails sent via your store's contact form are processed by Shopify's own servers, not the theme itself. Because of this, email delivery issues are rarely caused by anything related to the theme. The only cases may be where an app or custom code has altered the default behavior.
To check this, try the following:
Steps
- Install a fresh, unmodified version of your current theme (or any other default Shopify theme) as a draft.
- Test the contact form in this clean environment.
If the email comes through successfully, it's likely that an app or custom code is affecting the form in your published theme. However, if the issue persists even in the unmodified theme, we recommend reaching out to Shopify Support directly, as their team can investigate email delivery from their end.
