What is the mini collection list?

The Mini collection list is a series of collections displayed in a compact format. It is particularly useful in showcasing a large number of collections within a limited space, allowing potential customers to easily browse, without overwhelming the page layout. The mini collection list can be used as a section in its own right, or added as a block in several areas around the store, to further create a distinctive and eye catching look.

How to set up the mini collection list section

Steps

  1. Open the Theme editor.
  2. In the Template group, click Add section and add the Mini collection list to the page.
  3. Either click on one of the blocks present or click Add Collection to display additional collections.
  4. The mini collection list automatically shows in a grid format. To change this to a carousel, select Enable carousel in the main section settings.

Note

The collection image selected in the Shopify admin area will be shown for each collection. If no image has been selected, Expression will automatically use the first product image as the collection image.

How to set up the mini collection list block

The mini collection list can be added in several areas around the store, allowing for greater flexibility in showcasing products and enhancing the shopping experience.

Homepage

Steps

  1. Open the Theme editor and navigate to the Home page. 
  2. Click on the Sidebar and see that the Mini collection list is already present.
  3. In the Sidebar settings, ensure that the Show sidebar setting is turned on.
  4. Click on Collections, enter a Heading and select up to five collections. The mini collection list will show in a stacked layout, on the left hand side of the page.
  5. Decide whether to Show on mobile.
  6. Click Save.

Blog page

Steps

  1. Open the Theme editor and navigate to the Blog page. 
  2. In the Blog posts settings, ensure that Show sidebar setting is turned on. 
  3. Under the Blog posts settings, click on Add block and select the Mini collection list from the options available.
  4. Add a Heading e.g. 'Shop the store' and select up to five collections. The mini collection list will show in a stacked layout, on the right hand side of the page.
  5. Decide whether to Show on mobile.
  6. Click Save.

  2. In the main Article settings, ensure that Show sidebar setting is turned on. 
  3. Under the Article settings, click on Add block and select the Mini collection list from the options available.
  4. Add a Heading e.g. 'Shop the store' and select up to five collections. The mini collection list will show in a stacked layout, on the right hand side of the page.
  5. Decide whether to Show on mobile.
  6. Click Save.
