What is the contact form section and page template?
The Contact form is a useful section that enables customers to input their details and send a message directly to the merchant. There are many different blocks that can be customised to ensure that the most appropriate information is captured, enabling merchants to respond to customer queries efficiently.
The Contact page template is a pre-built page template that includes the Contact form section and an Image banner section.
How to set up the contact form section
Steps
- Open the Theme Editor and add the Contact form section to the page.
- Use the Section header add a heading message and use the settings to adjust the Heading size and Heading alignment.
- Navigate to the Style settings and choose whether the section should be Full width.
- Select a Color scheme for the form.
- Choose one of the five Section background options:
Default: Uses Beautify's default color scheme selected in Theme settings > Colors > Schemes.
Color: Select a custom Background color
Image: Upload a Background image
Simple gradient: Set the gradient start and end colors, plus the gradient style
Advanced gradient: Customize the gradient further using the COLOR STOP settings - If the section is not full width, an additional Layout setting, Boundary above section controls the spacing above the section. This can help to create smoother transitions between sections.
Default - Will leave the standard spacing at the top of the section
Tight - Will leave a smaller space between sections
Join - Adjacent sections will touch each other - Select Add block or choose an existing block.
- Add as many blocks as needed to build the desired form - and choose which ones should be Required within each block's settings.
- In the Custom input block, the Label must be unique. There are six input types to choose from:

Can I add a checkbox?
Yes, simply add the Custom checkbox block to the section and fill in all the relevant fields.
Where do I see the emails?
Emails will go to your email address as added in the Shopify admin area, in Settings > Notifications > Sender email.
Can I change the subject line?
It is not currently possible to change the subject line for emails sent through a contact form on a Shopify store.
Why am I not receiving emails?
Emails sent via your store's contact form are processed by Shopify's own servers, not the theme itself. Because of this, email delivery issues are rarely caused by anything related to the theme unless an app or custom code has altered the default behavior.
To check this, try the following:

- Install a fresh, unmodified version of your current theme (or any other default Shopify theme) as a draft.
- Test the contact form in this clean environment.
If the email comes through successfully, it's possible that an app or custom code is affecting the form in your published theme. However, if the issue persists even in the unmodified theme, we recommend reaching out to Shopify Support directly, as their team can investigate email delivery from their end.
