What is the featured product section?
The Featured product section enables merchants to showcase a specific product in various areas around the store. It is particularly useful in creating awareness and driving sales of a particular product, and can be regularly changed.
The Featured product section in Beautify offers a variety of layouts. The section can appear on a full width background or on a card. The card layout can be split or joined and product media can be shown in a carousel or stacked layout.
In common with many other sections in the Beautify theme, the Featured product can be placed on a gradient or colored section background. This can allow the section to blend smoothly into neighbouring sections. For more guidance on creating a seamless layout, refer to the Seamless sections guide.
How to set up the featured product section
Blocks in the Featured product section will function in the same way as the blocks on the standard product template with the exception of Beautify combined products where changing to a different combined, or sibling, product will take the customer to the product page. Refer to the product page guide for more information.
Steps
- Open the Theme Editor and add a Featured product section.
- Click Select product to choose a featured product.
- Select Use cover image if a single image is preferred, or, use the Media settings to configure the Stacked or Slider layout. For mobile devices, the Slider layout is the default when multiple images are shown.
- In the Style settings, set the Color scheme and Section background.
- Also in the Style settings, select the Card style - Joined or Split card.
- Select Add block or choose the existing block to configure the section.
What card styles are available for the featured product section
The featured product section in Beautify includes 2 card styles: Joined or Split card.
Tip
The Joined card shows the featured product as a single block.
The Split card divides the image and the content.

What media layouts are available for the featured product section
The Featured product section includes three possible media layouts
A cover image can be chosen using the Show cover image setting. This works well when it's desirable to show a single simple image that isn't one of the standard product images. On mobile, the same single cover image is shown.
To show the full product media, the theme offers a Stacked or Slider layout, replicating the Beautify product page design. In the stacked layout images can be shown in a column, with one or two images per row. The slider layout displays images in a carousel and can show thumbnails under the main image. Use the setting Sticky media column to control the balance between the media and product form content. On mobile the theme will always use the slider layout.
Specific settings allow control over video looping, video autoplay, thumbnails and image zoom.
FAQs
Does the featured product section support combined products?
The featured product section is not supported by the Shopify combined listings app at the time of writing.
The featured product section does support the Beautify combined products feature. Changing to a different sibling product will take the customer away from the featured product section and straight to the full product page.
