What is the color blending setting?

This setting allows you blend images that have light backgrounds into the background color for the product card or the product page. 

This simple yet powerful feature removes the need to process your images through time consuming image editing tools and within a few clicks can enhance the look of images on the product card or product page. 

How to use the color blending setting

Cutout cards

Color blending is not applied to cutout cards. In a cutout card, the product image overlaps the top edge of the card, whereas, in a traditional card the product image always sits within the confines of the overall product card. Cutout cards are designed to be used only for products where the main image has a transparent background. There is a toggle to enable or disable cutout cards in the following sections: Collection page, Featured collection, Product list, Get the look, Quiz, Collage hero, and Popular products in the header.

FAQs

Why can't I see any difference on my images when I turn on color blending?

The background color of your images must be very light, or preferably white. If this is not the case, color blending may not work. Color blending is not applied to cutout cards. 

What if my images are on a dark background?

This setting will not work with images with dark backgrounds.

Do the color blending settings work on the product image on the product page?

Yes. The colors set up in Theme settings > Colors > Color blending take precedence over any color settings set up on the product page. 

The Beautify theme also provides a Media background setting specifically for the product page which can be used when Color blending is not active. The media background color will be visible on images with transparent backgrounds or where images are different sizes.
