What is the contact page?
The Contact page allows customers to send a message directly to you, and allows you to engage with your customers and answer their queries.
How to set up the contact page
Steps
- Open the Theme Editor.
- Select Pages > contact from the dropdown at the top.
- In the Template section on the left-hand side of the screen, the Contact page section is already installed on the page.
- In the Contact page settings, select Show page title if required and set the Title alignment.
- If the Enable column layout for content and form is selected, this will show any page content on the left hand side of the screen and the contact page section on the right. This is applicable for larger screens only.
- Either use one of the blocks present upon install, or select Add block to choose a different block type. An Email input block must be present for the contact page to work correctly.
- Click Add section to insert a section either above or below the Contact page section.
- Click Save.
FAQs
How do get additional content to show on my contact form?
Go to the Shopify admin area and assign specific page content to the contact template. This feature will only be available if Boost is the published theme. This content will then show above the contact form section. Refer to Shopify's Pages article for more information.
Where do I see the emails?
Emails will go to your email address as added in the Shopify admin area, in Settings > Notifications > Sender email.
Why am I not receiving emails?
Emails sent via your store's contact form are processed by Shopify's own servers, not the theme itself. Because of this, email delivery issues are rarely caused by anything related to the theme. The only cases may be where an app or custom code has altered the default behavior.
To check this, try the following:
Steps
- Install a fresh, unmodified version of your current theme (or any other default Shopify theme) as a draft.
- Test the contact form in this clean environment.
If the email comes through successfully, it's likely that an app or custom code is affecting the form in your published theme. However, if the issue persists even in the unmodified theme, we recommend reaching out to Shopify Support directly, as their team can investigate email delivery from their end.
