What is the blog posts section
The Blog posts section is a dynamic feature in Boost that showcases the latest blog articles in a visually appealing format. This section prominently features a customizable image which sets the tone for the content, while a scrollable list of articles keeps your audience engaged with the latest insights and updates. A 'Shop the story' panel can automatically display any products featured in the article.
How to set up the blog posts section
Steps
- Open the Theme Editor and add the Blog posts section to the page.
- Upload a relevant Image that represents the blog. This could be a captivating visual that draws readers in. As the image may be cropped on different screen sizes, use an image focal point to ensure important content is shown.
- Choose a Heading and insert some Text. This could include the blog title or any other message to convey to customers. Both of these will show as an overlay over the image. Select Show 'All articles' button to add a link to the full blog.
- Select the Background color and Background opacity that makes the overlay text stand out. This is particularly useful for ensuring your message is clear against varying image backgrounds.
- Use the slider to control the Desktop vertical position of the overlay. This will determine its placement on the image, ensuring optimal visibility.
- In the Blog posts settings, use the Select blog setting to choose which blog to display. Then, select the number of blog Posts to show from that blog. This scrolling section can show up to five blog articles from the chosen blog.
- Blog articles are displayed with several customizable elements:
- Show author: Toggle this option to display the author’s name at the bottom of each article.
- Show date: Enable this setting to show the publication date, providing greater context for readers.
- Show tags: Choose to display tags associated with each article for better navigation and categorization.

If the blog articles shown in this section include links to specific products, select Show in the Featured products settings. The Boost theme will automatically display these featured products at the end of the article in a 'Shop the story' panel, creating a seamless shopping experience for customers.

The theme will show the blog post excerpt (if one exists) or the first 150 characters of the blog post.
Will the image be cropped?
Yes, the image is intended to be a background image to represent the blog, which means it will "cover" the area and may crop. Focal points can be used to mitigate this.
