Viewing other page settings

Some theme settings won’t show until you’re viewing the page in the theme editor preview window to which they relate – product, collection, article and blog settings all fall into this category. Be sure to navigate to the page you want to edit, to see the options available in the left sidebar of the theme customizer!

Example of how to view sections for pages other than the homepage

Blog pages

Please read the Shopify setup article detailing blogs and articles!

Blog pages can show a sidebar on the right-hand side. Add content such as blog articles, images, text, customer testimonials or link to your collections.

Sidebar content can be hidden or displayed on mobile devices on a block by block basis. When shown, it will be positioned just above the footer on mobile.

Blog post tags can be used to filter the articles shown. These will be displayed in the sidebar (if used) or at the top of the blog page.

Blog posts (articles)

The blog post or “article” pages also include the option for another sidebar on the right-hand side.

As with the blog page and home page sidebars, you can choose which content to add and which is shown on mobile devices.

Tip: Don’t forget to create article excerpts

Note that it’s not possible to choose different sidebar content for different blog articles. The homepage sidebar and blog sidebars are completely separate.

Product Story section

We have added a new product story section to the product page that give you some more options when it comes to displaying your information. It gives you some sections, not all from the homepage which will help it be a standout when people arrive on your product pages and want to learn more about your brand and products.

Head over to Online Store > Customize Theme. Navigate to any product page to see the Product Story section.

Example of where to find story page settings

Underneath the main ‘Product pages’ section in the settings bar you will see the Product Story section. This is where you can add the extra content that will appear on all of your product pages. You will not find all the sections that you have on the homepage as there are some limitations on the Shopify platform as to what we can include here.

Can the content in my Product Story section be different per product?

Our themes come with one product page template, this means any content added via the theme customiser will appear the same on each product page as they all use the same template. This is a limitation of how the Shopify theme customiser works with templates. Our themes do come with a number of great customisation options built-in and we do try to add as many features as possible when we are developing them, but unfortunately some of the features do have limitations such as this.

That’s not to say that it isn’t possible to add more product templates to allow for different content! Although it would definitely not be advisable to try and add a template to use per product. You could work with an expert Shopify developer in order to do this. Our developer team are currently working on ongoing projects but there is an excellent Shopify developer community out there that can do customisation work (requests to customise original code fall outside the scope of our theme support).
