Find out what’s included when you buy one of our Shopify themes, such as the support we offer, whether you can ask us about the theme before you buy – spoiler alert – you sure can! Free trials are available for all themes. Shopify has a guide available on how this works here.
What do I get if I buy your theme?
As per Shopify’s theme terms, you are licensed to use that theme on a single storefront for as long as want. You have no commitment to stay with our theme or make any ongoing payments.
Full email support
You have full, unrestricted access to contact our fantastic, free support team by email – we are online every weekday from 09:30-17:00 GMT (except public UK holidays) and we’ll reply as quickly as possible, usually within 24hrs (weekdays).
You can download the latest version of your theme, for free, for the lifetime of that theme. Installing a fresh update requires you to set up the newly installed theme from the beginning, but you will of course have access to the very latest features in this new version (your previously installed themes will be totally unaffected and will retain all settings and content). We regularly release updates, patches and tweaks to all of our themes to keep them optimised for platform improvements, new devices and browsers which are all constantly changing.
Please note that we are unable to provide free custom code or support for any third-party code (including apps, which are always supported by their own developers).
More information is available here.
What does it cost me?
The theme price is a one-off payment, charged directly by Shopify. The theme price is shown on the Shopify theme store page. There are no ongoing costs or monthly charges for using your theme. The theme purchase process is handled entirely through the Shopify billing / financial team. For any specific payment related queries, Shopify Support are best placed to assist.
Can I ask a question before I buy from you?
Yes absolutely! We welcome pre-sales enquiries and don’t forget, you can trial the theme on your own storefront for as long as you wish, with zero commitment to buy the theme. For any theme you are interested in, just click the ‘Try Theme’ button on the theme store page to trial things. Testing out a theme and becoming familiar with its settings and features is often the best way to decide whether it will suit your needs.
Why can’t you help me with my custom code?
Developing a theme is a big investment for us, representing many months of design, development and testing by our whole team – and that’s before even contemplating the investment we make in keeping our themes up to date.
We can’t provide settings and features for every level of granularity out-of-the-box, as not all merchants require this. Every store owner has different needs and even if a relatively simple custom coding change takes 30 minutes for us to implement, once multiplied across hundreds or thousands of stores, this is a huge amount of time, meaning our themes would need to be a lot more expensive to cover the associated cost of time spent by our skilled development team.
So whilst we do appreciate that there may, in some cases be other things you’d like the theme to cater for, to fit your vision, please bear in mind that our themes (and all themes) are provided with limitations as to what they can do and how they can be moulded, by their very nature. Bespoke e-commerce agencies will create stores to exactly fulfil clients visions, but these typically cost 100 times more than a theme on the Shopify themes store. If you are at the stage where you need coding customisations applying to your theme, you would need to speak with a specialist developer:
Why can’t you help me with my app issue?
There are fewer than 100 themes on the Shopify theme store, whereas there are over 6000 apps, with this list increasing almost daily. All themes are built using a largely consistent framework, whereas apps are created on many different platforms, designed and coded by totally different teams. As such, it would be literally impossible for us to maintain compatibility with any app ever released for any purpose.
In almost all cases we are unable to access app code, and we can rarely edit any app behaviour that might be interfering with your theme.
For these reasons, Shopify places the responsibility for all app support, including compatibility issues and uninstalling, firmly with the app developers.
